Connecting to the Superbase News Host

Most news browsers will automatically connect to the news host when you click on the links on this page.

news://news.superbase.com <-click here and you should connect to the news host.

If you are using Netscape Navigator, you can connect to the news host by following these steps:

Select Window, Netscape News from your browser

Select File, Open News Host from the newsgroup reader

In the Open Host dialog, enter news.superbase.com.

Once the newsgroup appears, click on it (or right click) and select Show All newsgroups.

Select the groups you with to view and then check-mark the ones that you want to subscribe to.

In other news reader software, you can generally use the File, Open command to connect to the news host and then use the options in that program to expand the news host list.

In most browsers, you can enter the URL news://news.superbase.com to connect to the news host. Some news readers like Microsoft's Internet News won't connect to the news server without a specific newsgroup to look at, so you can either click on the link at the top of this page, or follow these instructions to add the news host to your application:

Select News, Options from the menu.

Click on the Server tab. Click on Add News Host.

In the dialog, enter news.superbase.com.

Press OK and acknowledge all dialog prompts.

At this point, you can now display the newsgroup lists using the normal internet news procedures.
