Maintaining Superbase Applications

Migrating applications forward - form issues

The single most important migration issue with forms is that Superbase programs only can "Translate" forms from one major revision to the next. This means that you cannot always open and modify a form that was created in version 1, in a version 3 copy of Superbase. You must first open the version 1 form in a copy of Superbase version 2, and then save it. Once you have saved it, Superbase will update the form so that it is compatible with version 2's new form handling system. Once you have done this, you can then open the form up in version 3 and then save it, at which point you will have successfully converted your form from version 1 style to version 3.
